Old Boys Chorus

How could we honor the centenary of St. Bernard's without music? The school's recorder ensembles, hand-bell choir, and choruses of many configurations reveal a music program that continues to be built on a vision of our founders-the vision that a well-rounded education must include not just a nod to but a celebration of music as an essential force in our lives. The quality of the songs in the St. Bernard's songbook is testament to the depth of feeling and good humor with which these men endowed their school a century ago. And the school's music teachers-Halliday, Strange, Morris, and Crowley-have inspired generations of St. Bernard's boys to make music in later life, as both amateurs and professionals.

On February 9, 2004 an Old Boys chorus gathered at the school to participate in the recording of St. Bernard's School 2004: Music In The Centennial Year. (The CD may be purchased at the online general store.) The following selections are a few of the outtakes from that performance.
