On February 5, the Junior School enjoyed a visit from author and illustrator Steven Weinberg.
Mr. Weinberg has written many books, but his visit to St. Bernard's was focused on What is Color? which tells the story of pigments, paints, and the messy (and often stinky) history of creating color. The boys were fascinated by his stories and the way in which he brought them to life on the page. He encouraged the boys to always carry a sketchbook with them to jot down ideas and drawings. He still carries one of his elementary notebooks with him for inspiration.
After the assembly, Mr. Weinberg signed books and then taught a first-grade art class where the boys got to make their own paint.
